JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0.2 Standalone Installation

The JD Edwards Demo installation has got even easier. Thanks to Oracle, who has brought in Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) to the scene.

We have tested the installation on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 too (all 32bit versions, please do let know if it went well for 64bit OS’s). All of them work great. I’ve mostly re-written the steps from the Oracle supporting documents. Oracle Fusion Applications is now Official (Oracle Fusion Launched)

Oracle today unveiled Oracle Fusion Applications, the next generation of business applications. By setting the standard for application architecture, design and deployment, customers will be able to extend the value of their applications environment by using Oracle Fusion Applications components side-by-side with their existing applications portfolio.

The Fusion Application suite has been discussed about for years and now has finally been launched into the market. But on the contrary to the belief that Fusion Apps will be a complete suite of modules, it seems that Fusion apps will be delivered as Individual modular applications, like Finance, CRM etc.

As of today, only Finance, CRM and HRMS are being released and will be made public to the customers 1st quarter of 2011

In a few words, Fusion is a mix of all ERP’s and software suites Oracle has acquired. Oracle BI Publisher is a template-based desktop publishing application. Oracle BI Publisher was created by Oracle and was first used in its E-Business Suite; it was then bundled with the PeopleSoft Suite a few years ago. BI Publisher improves reporting by defining a Roadmap which can be a as simple as a Word Doc or Adobe.
